A Day in the Studio... That Didn’t Go to Plan

A Day in the Studio... That Didn’t Go to Plan

Running a small business means wearing a hundred hats and rolling with the punches — and sometimes, those punches come in the form of a studio that looks nothing like the photos.

We recently booked what we thought was going to be the perfect new studio space for a content shoot. It looked great online — bright, clean, modern — a total vibe. But when we arrived? Catfished. Hard.

The space was nothing like advertised. It smelled awful, there were actual flies buzzing around, and the vibe was just completely off. Not exactly the creative, clean environment we needed to shoot our hijabs.

To be totally honest, I felt a wave of disappointment hit me. It brought back so many flashbacks. In that moment, I felt every inch of what it means to run a small business: the stress, the improvisation, and the constant pressure to turn messes into magic.

But here’s the thing, the girls smashed it. Despite everything going wrong, everyone pulled together. We got creative, adapted, laughed through the chaos, and still managed to get some solid content in.

It wasn’t easy, and it definitely wasn’t what we planned, but we made it happen. That’s what small business life is really about — showing up and figuring it out even when the circumstances are far from ideal.

Days like this remind me that perfection isn’t the goal. Progress is and progress sometimes looks like battling flies, holding your breath through weird smells, and shooting around terrible lighting — all while still creating something beautiful.

It taught me so much — about trusting my guts and most importantly, about resilience. Even on the roughest days, the vision stays the same: to create beautiful pieces that make people feel confident and seen.

Here’s to the chaos, the lessons, and the wins — even the messy ones.

With love,
Hudda 🤎
